FEP Technical Specs

Version 14, changed by qrlevis@aol.com. 07/30/2007.   Show version history

5.1  The specifications for the FEP all-electronic strategy for the FEP surveys in 2007 are found in  the Word file "All-Elect-specs-4-30-07.doc" and Excel file "FEP-DataFields-Diag-5-7-07.xls" [attached to this page, see 'Attachments" below].

5.2  The FEP Survey Confidentiality Policy is in ATTACHMENT "FEP-SurveyConfidentialityPolicy.doc" (below).  It is posted on www.AFPnet.org.  In addition, the FEP Survey Confidentiality Policy along with a qualifying statement of participating software firms is in ATTACHMENT "Confident-Policy+Qual-State.doc" (below).  This is to be distributed by the firms along with their FEP survey software modules.

5.3  The confidentiality agreement with participating firms regarding access to the “Anonymized” FEP Fundraising Performance Database is in ATTACHMENT “Anony-Data-Confident-Agree.doc” (BELOW).  Software firms must accept the terms of this agreement before they receive passwords permittng them to download the "Anonymized" data.  "Anonymized" data field specifications are in ATTACHMENT “FEPanonyDataSpecs.xls” (below).

5.4   FEP all-electronic system developers will find the instructions for nonprofit responders to the AFP on-line FEP Surveys useful. The instructions are found in "FEPsurveyInstructions.doc" [see "attachments" below].   [Note that the on-line FEP 2005-06 Survey can be found here].  These instructions are primarily for use when a nonprofit’s donor software provider is not able to give them FEP survey software and/or guidance for responding to the FEP surveys, along with specific instructions tailored for the software.  Such software and guidance eliminates the need for nonprofits to figure out how to follow these detailed and burdensome instructions for extracting the needed data from their donor databases.

File headers (for the purposes of communicating contact, source, etc.) have been eliminated. This information will now be retained in the Vendor table within the FEP database.
